The flared pant trend comes and goes every few seasons, I’ve never cared if they were in style or not they always flattered my body shape. My very first “real job” outfit was from Express, slowly thereafter my entire work wardrobe was from Express. The work pants come in various shapes and lengths, once you find a style you like it is worth buying it in a few different colors.
Of course, my thyroid decided it no longer wanted to work properly and my weight began to fluctuate. Since then I have worked in industries where the dress code was more casual and there was no need for my favorite Express dress pants. Fast forward to early 2020 and I’m looking for flared pants once again because I am beyond over the straight leg trend.
I’ve been experimenting with different pant and jean shapes to add a variety to my closet. Who wants 3-4 pairs of the same style of jeans? Guilty as charged. So as I was searching Express’s website for flared pants, I stumbled upon these black flared pants (I’m wearing a size 6). And I had such a vision of wearing these with a white tank for the early spring around Manhattan. Instead, I’ve settled for indoors and this photoshoot.
These flared Express pants are high waisted and flatter my greatest assets – my waist and body shape. Pairing it with this cropped tank from a closet archive tank and impromptu Van’s sneakers. Originally I had this styled with my favorite Steve Madden sandal heels, but I had broken the strap with another look. Not wanting to give up on this look altogether, I decided to wear it with sneakers. Why not right?!
My next look I’m envisioning a matching blazer and my repaired Steve Madden Heels. Stay tuned for that look!
