My two favorite colors to wear are black and white. Classic colors and not necessarily always part of the color trends in fashion. One of the spring/summer 2021 trends is “Monochrome Magic” – and this is my winter interpretation of the look.
Now the trend shows a beautiful mix of black and white fabric, lots of chequerboard patterns from Dolce & Gabbana (which I may or may not experiment with) but a nice split of black and white as Ports 1961 showed off.
I took this monochrome magic inspiration and added my nod to Katharine Hepburn in the 1940s of a wide-leg trouser. This one-shoulder polka dot top from Amazon was my true inspiration for this entire look, it gave the added texture and pattern to such a simple look. I especially love the sweetheart neckline in the front.
These Zara off white pants balanced offset of the black top and shoes. Previously I’ve worn these pants for a more casual monochromatic look. Today I wanted a more classic feel to this look but with my subtle edge… which brings me to the shoes. I purchased these kitten heels for my birthday two years ago and never wore them up until now. It is one trend I simply cannot let go of.. Studded shoes.
Pulling my hair back into a side bun and throwing on a red lip, I never felt more feminine and unstoppable.
