My two favorite colors to wear are black and white. Classic colors and not necessarily always part of the color trends in fashion. One of the spring/summer 2021 trends is “Monochrome Magic” – and this is my winter interpretation of the look.

We all tend to gravitate towards certain items in our closets all the time, especially when we truly love them. As many tops, shirts, skirts, pants, jeans, sweaters, dresses, shoes, sneakers galore that we have – we wear the same damn things all the time. I know I do, and you probably do too. Lately I’ve been trying to find a new way to restyle some of my favorite items and with this look I’ve managed to do just that.
The shacket. Is this even still trending? I’m absolutely late to the game but honestly, I wasn’t able to go many places in 2020 so I refused to spend money on new clothes that I couldn’t really wear. Now my therapist may argue that I need to go outside and get fresh air, hence a jacket or shacket, will be needed. But the reality is I am working remotely still much like the rest of the world and I often pick my head up to realize the sun is setting. End rant.
Fashion trends – they come, they go. What really stays and what should we really pay attention to? Personally, I believe that we should pay attention to the trends that catch our own eye that resonate with our personal style. If 2020 taught me anything, it’s that going braless is one of the most freeing feelings. So why not gravitate towards clothing that offers me just that?
I read somewhere online that if you wear red you become more attractive to a man. As a single woman in my thirties, I laughed when I read this “fact.” Dating has sure put me through the wringer, I’ve debated getting botox from the stress lines I’ve developed and sending the bill to the “almost” boyfriend. Besides that it is a hilarious idea, I truly think these boys will see red when they get the bill. So I opted to wear red instead.
These MIAOU Tommy Pants were such a splurge that I’ve been racking my brain on how I can share them with you all again but in a winter style. The first look I’ve shared is from an early fall style, which I still truly love. But this I wanted to make for more of a winter feel…
Faux leather leggings have always been my most coveted items for the fall/winter. Why? Because you can look stylish and be comfortable all at the same time. Especially nowadays, who the hell has worn actual pants since March? If you have then bless your soul, I’m pretty sure I have worn jeans a hand full of times since the beginning of the year.
Since I have 3 key styles on this blog, I wanted to showcase all 3 of them in these Express Faux Leather leggings!
If it isn’t obvious enough, I really love this leith body con dress by Nordstrom. This dress perfectly flatters my shape and you can wear it so many different ways. I already have it in white, which is perfect for the summer and of course now my favorite color – black. This time around I styled it for the fall weather, particularly for my living room where I am working 100% of the time.
The reality is I purchased this sweater because I needed to meet the minimum requirement for shipping and threw in something from my favorites with the notion that I’d return said item. That never happened. The second I put this sweater on by A New Day I didn’t want to take it off, and was pleasantly surprised by the fit.
One can never go wrong with a trench coat – especially when it’s from Target. I picked this coat up last year for my trip to Canada and it was my go-to outerwear for the entire trip. Since then I have continued to wear it for the fall and into the early winter (before it gets too cold).
