Dresses and Sneakers

Dresses and Sneakers

I’ve waited awhile to wear this outfit. That perfect day, a day where it’s not too hot and not too cold… the perfect date. Now that I’ve loosely quoted Miss Congeniality let’s get back to the fashion aspect of this post.

Wearing dresses and sneakers is part of my styles aesthetic. It’s not that I don’t like to be girly and wear high heels, they just don’t like me.

Recycled Wardrobe: How to restyle without breaking the bank

Recycled Wardrobe: How to restyle without breaking the bank

Often I find myself lusting after an outfit I see on Instagram or in a storefront on a manikin. We all get that FOMO feeling when we realize that we don’t have that exact outfit in our possession – or do we? Our minds are quickly overtaken with the idea that we need to have that outfit, or those shoes or that bag or that jacket… and we are dragged back down to reality when we look at the price tag. Accepting defeat is not part of my personality – I may lay low for a minute, but when I do come back it is always with a plan.

So ask yourself the following questions:

  1. Do I have something similar?
  2. Do I know someone who has something similar?
  3. Is this item an investment piece? (SERIOUSLY!)
Style tips: your “shape”

Style tips: your “shape”

Every girl has a different “body shape” that fall into a few “categories” that are either fruit related or direct descriptives. Apple, pear, curvy, straight, athletic, plus size, petite, fuller bust, flat, short, tall… the list goes on. Am I the only person who doesn’t particularly fall into these very specific categories? Sometimes it feels that way, which makes researching fits and trends all the more difficult. Your style should be a reflection of who you are as a person, so essentially it is what you like… whether it is trendy or not. Flattering lines and hems are key. Some women just say “fuck it, I like it – I’M WEARING IT!” whether it looks flattering or not. All the more power to you, but I cannot begin to tell you how many times I have done that and seen a photo of myself just to say “WTF WAS I THINKING?!” Hence the reason for my post. These tips are a “friendship” of style tips and personality.

Teddy Bear Coat

Teddy Bear Coat

This coat was by far the best birthday present I had gotten this year. Why? Just one touch of it and you’ll know why. It is like being wrapped in a blanket, so cozy and snuggly… the perfect hoodie to nap in if I’m being honest here. This blog is more about fashion than napping so here is how I styled it…

Nothing to Wear

Nothing to Wear

Sterotypical shirt for me right? Nothing to wear. I knew I had to pair this shirt with a really awesome look, the problem is I thought of 100’s of them! Settling on these velvet wide leg pants I picked up in La Jolla, I realized I went back to my typical color combo: black, white and hints of gold. These…

NYC Weekend Fashion

NYC Weekend Fashion

SURPRISE! I’ve re-done my website! Super excited to finally share this as it was a long time in the making. Let’s jump into what this blog post is about – FASHION! Last weekend I took my little cousin Zarah to New York City to see Time Square and Swan Lake. Being my mini me, I wanted to coordinate our outfits. I’ve been eyeing this jumpsuit from Lulu’s for some time now – although the back of the jumpsuit is really what makes it so gorgeous, it was absolutely fall weather that day… so my jacket was not coming off haha! I loved the wide leg pants of this which made me feel a lot less self conscious about my wider hip section. Of course I paired it with my go to converse sneakers because what else would I be wearing while walking all over Manhattan?
